Mrs. Eleanor Ashworth

Headteacher

Mrs Ashworth has led Brindleford School since 2018, bringing over 25 years of experience in independent education. A Cambridge history graduate, she is passionate about developing the whole child and fostering a love of learning.

Mr. David Carrington

Deputy Headteacher

Mr Carrington joined Brindleford in 2012 and oversees academic standards across the school. A keen mathematician, he also coaches the school chess team.

Mrs. Patricia Gleeson

School Bursar

Mrs Gleeson manages the school's finances and operations with over 15 years of experience in educational administration. She ensures the smooth running of all non-academic aspects of school life.

Ms. Rachel Okonkwo

Head of English & Drama

Ms Okonkwo brings Shakespeare to life for pupils of all ages. She directs the annual school production and runs the creative writing club.

Mr. Thomas Whitfield

Head of Sciences

Mr Whitfield's engaging demonstrations are legendary at Brindleford. He leads STEM enrichment activities and has guided numerous pupils to regional science fair success.

Mrs. Sunita Patel

Head of Lower School

Mrs Patel oversees the Reception to Year 4 classes with warmth and dedication. She has over 20 years of experience in early years and primary education.

Mr. James Holloway

Head of PE & Games

Mr Holloway coordinates the school's extensive sporting programme, including fixtures against local schools. He holds FA and ECB coaching qualifications.

Ms. Fiona Drummond

Head of Music & Performing Arts

Ms Drummond leads the school choir, orchestra, and various instrumental ensembles. She studied at the Royal Academy of Music and performs regularly with local orchestras.

Mr. Robert Nkemelu

Head of Modern Languages

Mr Nkemelu teaches French and Spanish, and has introduced a popular Mandarin club. He organises annual language exchange trips to France.

SENCO

Mrs Chen coordinates support for pupils with special educational needs and disabilities. She works closely with families and external agencies to ensure every child can thrive.

Dr. Hannah Llewellyn

Head of Mathematics

Dr Llewellyn completed her PhD in applied mathematics at Imperial College London before entering teaching. She runs the school's popular maths challenge club.

Mr. Kieran Walsh

Head of Humanities

Mr Walsh teaches History and Geography across the school. He leads the annual Year 9 battlefield tour to northern France and organises the inter-house debating competition.

Medical, Health & Safety

Mrs. Joanne Harper

School Nurse (RGN)

Mrs Harper is our registered general nurse, providing day-to-day medical care for pupils and staff. She manages the medical room, administers medications, and coordinates health screening programmes.

Mr. Simon Beckett

Health & Safety Officer

Mr Beckett oversees all health and safety compliance across the school site. He conducts regular risk assessments, fire drills, and ensures all facilities meet current regulations.

Ms. Priya Sharma

Designated Safeguarding Lead

Ms Sharma is responsible for safeguarding and child protection across the school. She works closely with staff, families, and external agencies to ensure the welfare of every pupil.

Mrs. Karen Whitmore

First Aider & Welfare Assistant

Mrs Whitmore holds a Level 3 Award in First Aid at Work and provides first aid cover across the school. She also supports pupil welfare and is a friendly face at the school gate each morning.

Mr. Daniel Osei

First Aider & Lunchtime Supervisor

Mr Osei is a qualified first aider who oversees pupil wellbeing during break and lunchtimes. He also assists with sports coaching and runs the lunchtime football club.

Mrs Farnsworth is the welcoming first point of contact for all enquiries. She manages admissions, school communications, and keeps the school office running efficiently.

Site Manager & Facilities

Mr Thorpe maintains the school's buildings and grounds to the highest standard. He oversees contractors, manages lettings, and ensures the site is safe and presentable.

Ms. Bethany Cole

Librarian & Learning Resources

Ms Cole curates our school library and promotes a love of reading. She runs book clubs for all year groups and coordinates the annual Book Week celebrations.
